FAQ

General

Depending on whether you are a corporate or large club/ group booking our quotation can include catering depending on your needs. Your quotation will include itemised catering options which you can choose with our combined activity packages, once dates are confirmed. Currently we offer catering from an external supplier, locally based with options such as: Italian Stone baked Pizza, Burger & Chips, Chicken Nuggets & Chips (drinks are all included with options). Kindly note, we do not allow hot/cold food to be brought onto our premises outside of this arrangement.

You will be provided with the necessary equipment needed to take part as well as face protection and in the case of Airsoft a uniform can be rented but is not necessary. You can bring your own Airsoft equipment and bbs but it is subject to a chronograph test before you will be allowed use it. We do not recommend to wear jeans or canvas runners or anything you do not want to get a little dirty. Ankle boots are recommended if you have them or if you don’t, don’t worry, we can rent you ankle support at €2. Footwear with grip is essential.

No, once they are the above ages they are permitted to play. Airsoft Guns are only  a third as powerful as a Paintball gun and the pellets we use are plastic fired at under a joule of muzzle energy (which basically means it does not pierce skin). We do not permit exposed limbs, have an extremely strict and zero tolerance rule regarding removing face masks. Redhills Adventure has a 100% Safety record and a very good reputation for safety and running well run events so you are in very safe hands.

Splatmaster     – 8-12 years or Adult Sessions Available

Archery Tag      – 10 years +

Airsoft               – 12 years +

Note: For our open skirmishes we mix players of all ages together on the day onto two teams and you (almost) always get to play with who you come with. Saturdays are ideal for new players or younger players. We have child and adult bows for Archery Tag so we can tone it down or up depending on the age or the group.

Our activities are very safe, fun and adrenalin fuelled. Relevant protective gear is provided and briefings are carried out before each activity takes place and games are strictly marshalled to ensure fairness and that all players are playing by the rules. Like most  activities you are likely to do, there are important things you need to be aware but once you listen to the safety briefings and also follow the instruction of the game marshals you are guaranteed a great day out in  a fun and safe environment.

Yes of course…that’s why they are called tag sports. We however provide protective gear and recommend what to wear but compared with Paintball, Airsoft guns are 3 times less powerful so much less painful and Archery Tag is even softer again. You obviously need to feel the hits or the activities wouldn’t work so don’t expect Nerf Wars either but trust us…you will be fine, we promise! Splatmaster is a tame version of Paintball so you will feel some impact which is neccessary for the game to work.

We encourage players to take the day at their own pace, if running around like John Rambo isn’t your thing then pick a spot and practice your sniping skills. Take the day at your own pace and you’ll have a ball!

We are open to everyone whether on your own, with a few mates or as a large group. If you have a group less than 10 (Airsoft) then you would need to join an Open Skirmish at the weekends. Archery Tag open sessions are held once a month and you only require 8 players to book a group session/date of your choice.

No, not at all.  We have an activity for everyone, provide all the gear and talk you through how to play. We cater for individuals, sports teams, stags and hens, corporate team building, special events, birthday parties, families, competitions and are wheelchair accessible. We run open skirmishes and sessions regulary so you don’t need a group and we are open Mon-Sat for groups of 10 players plus. New Players join us at Redhills for our regular skirmish or Archery Tag Open Sessions.

Splatmaster is a low impact tag combat sport that shoots color filled round Ammo resulting in a Splat. The Ammo is 100% biodegradable, non toxic, resists stains, and easily washes away with water. After a short safety briefing, you play against other players in a number of game scenarios such as Territories and Capture the flag. You will feel some impact (or the game doesn’t work), but it is much more tame than regular Paintball. Splatmaster is safe, fun, thoroughly enjoyable and suitable for ages 8-12s

Archery is soaring in popularity, propelled by the Hunger Games series and hit TV shows Game of Thrones and Walking Dead in which bows feature prominently as the weapon of choice. Developed in the US, Archery Tag pits two teams against each other in a dodgeball-type battle. But instead of balls, players try to take each other out with custom-made, foam tipped arrows. Unlike Paintball, you won’t get bruised or hurt all over for days! The official version of the game is played by two teams with five players each, but it can be played with teams consisting of as few as 4 players or as many as 10 aside.

Airsoft is a tag sport similar to paintball in some ways but using 6mm plastic bbs rather than the larger paintball. The equipment is more realistic which makes Airsoft a great hobby to pursue in addition to it being ideal for first timers, groups such as Stags, Team Building, Birthday Parties and more. Airsoft involves two teams playing against each other with lives, base camps and objectives. Airsoft is considerably better value than paintball and doesn’t hurt as much. You can book in on your own, join a team, collect all the gear or simply rent everything from us whenever you choose, entirely up to you!

Yes you can view part of the game zone from the Safe Zone Area or shelters however we generally request those not taking part to come back after the session. Should parents of the birthday child for example, supervisors or coaches etc wish to wait there is no issue however all persons waiting onsite must sign in on the visitors sign in log.

We offer ample free parking along with toilet and changing room facilities. Our indoor registration area comprises picnic style seating as well as a waiting area. There are a selection of snacks and cold drinks available for sale.

Due to Covid 19, we currently do not allow food onsite. Birthday cake and goody bags for children are permitted however but no catering hot or cold is permitted onsite currently.

We can provide uniforms in the Airsoft package for small to medium sized groups under which are worn over what you wear on the day. We do not recommend jeans or light clothing for the airsoft but at the same time dressing up like the Michelin Man will mean you will be roasting hot and not feel the hits so a balance is ideal. Suggested clothing e.g. Hoodies, Tracksuits (not leggings), hats and gloves recommended, combats etc. Note under Irish law, Irish Army or Garda current issue uniforms are not permitted to be worn at Airsoft venues.

Yes but it will be subject to a strict Chronograph test and only if it is below 328fps/ 1 Joule (legal limit in Ireland) will it be certified as approved for use. Please note that we will not permit you to use your Airsoft Gun/RIF if it is even 1fps over the limit so make sure when you leave the shop you have proof that the gun is below the legal limit. We have briefed our recommended retailers regarding allowing a slight tolerance of say 5-8 fps to allow room for variances in readings which can be caused by things like weather etc. Speak to your retailer re this as you don’t want the  disappointment of not being allowed use your new prize possession!

We will ensure you are provided with the right equipment and are fully briefed but the onus is on you to listen carefully and follow our instructions.
